FLAG ON THE POST: 2022 Season at the bye

BUCS Twitter and social media has been wild this season. The ups and downs have been funny and also depressing at times. We’re only halfway through. But here’s a look back at some of the best and WORST takes so far this season.

We’re just a little past the halfway point of the BUCS season. It’s been a rude awakening for may fellow BUCS fans. And it’s been a continuous slow and grueling and familiar feeling others.

The emotional rollercoaster of instant reactions on social media is something else. Here’s a look at some of he best and WORST takes from social media so far this season.

Riiiiiiight.

Damn near TWO hours before kickoff in the Week 2 matchup and the game was a lost cause. Optimism isn’t for everyone. BUCS went on to win 20-10.

The offensive woes that just keep woe’ing.

Ugggggghhhhhhh….

Defense forced 2 turnovers and GB score another point after this tweet. Unfortunately, the BUCS offense matched them in turnovers and couldn’t find the end zone until the last minute(literally) and failed on a 2-point conversion.

This has been the case for about 4 years running now.

Ugggggghhhhhhh….

This, too, has been the case for about 4 years running.

……….

Clowns doing clown sh*t.

This one will be interesting in January.

Except Arians was the face of terrible offenses his entire tenure in Tampa too.

Seasonal Affective Disorder in FULL EFFECT.

Can’t complain about the play and not embrace the change and all it may bring.

The hilarity.

Some logic amongst the foolishness.

They turned on Devin White with the quickness. Even though he’s the most productive player on the defense. The #5 ranked defense in the NFL at the time. Because the wins didn’t reflect his and the defense’s efforts. Damn shame!

Can’t lie…I laughed. HARD.

And it hurts so damn bad.

Nah. I’m good.

Probably one of the WORST takes in recent memory. Just random as hell and WTF’ish.

Is this considered jumping ship??

This context killing narratives thing is really hurtful to a lot of folks out there.

No bueno.

I agree with most of this. However, when mentioning the identity of the team, this is pointing directly to the offense.

More foolishness pointed in the direction of Devin White. ALL because the offense can’t score and thus, the Team wasn’t winnning.

Bullshit “analyst" being retweeted by attention-seeking reporter?? This whole “look at the defense being imperfect” craziness was just floated out there because the offense couldn’t score or move the ball.

Deflection. Distraction. Denial.

Booger McFarland would be proud of this one.

Serious business. The slander and tomfoolery was real. Real stupid.

Is THIS considered jumping ship??

Another idiotic take that stemmed from not having context and wanting to be a part of the crowd.

Crowdsourced foolishness.

Dark times.

Exactly halfway through the season with a 3-5 record.

These people have 1K + people that truly believe they’re insightful and have good takes and info.

My dude.

Random as wrong as all hell.

Some people just like outlandish and outspoken foolishness.

The need to criticize players is hilariously dangerous. And, overall, insane.

A BIG First for the BUCS. It was good to see the reaction of the fans over there.

Flag On The Post 2021 & 2022 Preseason Recap

A recap of some of the best and some of the worst takes from the events of the 2021 season and the 2022 offseason

Man Of The People. Sure-Shot Ring Of Honor Entrant.

This dude’s PR and social media team has been in overdrive since he left New England.

Absolutely PERFECT.

One Super Bowl isn’t enough. Getting one early in your career is both a gift and a curse. The young fella has a long career ahead of him and he doesn’t want to be forgotten. Both development and consistency is the key to greatness.

I’m good with Vea NOT popping out of a cake. However, him being mic’d up at a party is something I’d pay for.

Easily the most consistent WR in the NFL. And it hasn’t mattered who has thrown him the ball. He’s the biggest offensive X-factor in the NFC South.

Vita F’n Vea

Remember when he was “trash” and “one of the worst NFL left tackles”??

Okay.

Riiiiiiight.

Ha!! The young fella just keeps making plays.

Honestly, Brady IS a game manager. That’s what the really good QBs do best. And it’s what the best QBs do consistently.

Wow! That’s a whole clown car of disappointment.

They’re wild out there.

Hmmmm…..

I HATE the sAints. And I can’t stand any fans like this. I hope this heifer chokes on her own ignorance and rage.

But he was “trash” to so many fellow BUCS fans for years. And the guy he was protecting was the undeniable Chosen One. Ha!!!!!

If “Say Any’damn’thing” was person.

Ha!!!

Said it from the start….he’d be a terrible teammate and it would cost the BUCS big time. And yea…I’m placing blame on Tom Brady.

Hmmmmmmm…….

ALWAYS.

The QB position gets far too much protection while the rest of the players suffer. It’s gotta change.

I’m not sure who or what runs this Twitter page. But, he/she/it is consistently idiotic in his/her/its takes. May as well be a cartoon.

Say Whaaaaaaaaat?

That’s a whole lot of credit given to a player that had ZERO to do with dismantling those opposing QBs.

How bad must this dude’s kids actually be?! 40 days with his family and he said “Fuck This Sh*t Righ Here….I’m Going Back To Work!!”

It’s about that time. Since he and his unit were the most consistent and the most dominant in the 2020 Super Bowl season and over the last 3 seasons, it only made sense.

Help Vita, Please

Vea stole the show at a postgame interview.

After the Week victory in Philadelphia, the monster known as Vita Vea was doing a jersey swap with an Eagles offensive lineman. And it was pure comedy gold.

Leonard Fournette was being interviewed for his solid performance after the game when Vea, unintentionally, stole the show.

The big man had another good performance on the defensive line. He finished with 3 Tackles, 2 QB Hits, and a Sack. And per usual, his performance went beyond the stat lines. He was instrumental in opening up opportunities for everyone else on the line and helping to contain QB Jalen Hurts.

But, he’s gonna be remembered mostly because of the 15 seconds of hilarious floundering around after the game. The bear hug he gave Miles Sanders to stop him in his tracks is a close 2nd.

I had to have even more fun with it.

The legend has spoken.

Ha!

Fournette said if Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos can’t do it, he lost.

All good things come to an end.

This dude is a FRANCHISE PLAYER. On and off the field.

He had a long, winding road to get to being a Super Bowl Champion as well as being a college graduate.

Check him out as he told his story on ‘I Am Athlete’.

Seriously.

Fellow BUCS fans should recognize what a difference this cat makes.

The guy makes it SO much easier for every other receiving option.

As unselfish as anyone could ever ask for.

And he’s still getting better in every facet as a player….that’s SCARY.

Screen Shot 2021-04-28 at 12.59.34 PM.png

EA Football….the WORST.

This one here caused quite a stir.

Many want to continue the “Win Now Mode” and worry about the consequences of not winning later.

We’ve see what this has brought to every other team in the NFC South.

Just a flashback to initial bad draft takes.

Remember the vitriol towards the Vita Vea pick??

Whitehead vowed to make sure people knew his name before the start of the 2020 season. He did just that.

Now, it seems some people want to mention his name as a player that could be moved.

It’s crazy how some fans want the “next big thing” and can’t appreciate what’s already on deck.

Brady is rolling over in his hyperbaric chamber.

2021 1st Round Pick, Joe Tryon

Get this man a hat!!! STAT.

4th Round Selection turned starter for a Super Bowl Winning defense…..Whitehead knows what it is.

Griffin took the most snaps at the championship boat parade than he’s had since college.

He’s had one of the best jobs in NFL history.

Sitting behind a QB that’s highly unlikely to be taken out of a game unless it’s due to severe injury.

Not even 30 INTs could’ve gotten him more than 4 snaps.

A lil’ late on this one. But, the artist deserves some recognition.

Super dope artwork recognized by the young fella himself….Mr. GetLive, Devin White.

Giovanni when enters the RB room as the guy who’s obviously there to make the other guys feel bad:

Ummmm….No.

“Buck” gets you disqualified and banned IMMEDIATELY.

Doesn’t do well annoying, pesky types.

‘Nuff said

PERFECT.

D. White ain’t letting nothing slide.

Constant pressure.

He stays loaded with the get-back.

And it’s never fake.

I became a fan of the BUCS in ‘94 on the strength of Hardy Nickerson.

The following offseason brought this big fella and Derrick Brooks into the fold.

Thank you, NY JETS for being terrible at drafting.

Fournette was one of the most phenomenal college RBs seen in recent memory.

He knows it.

He’s not letting anyone forget it either.

It’s not even a debate.

Lavonte David is the most slept on player in the NFL over the last 15 years..

Regardless of position.

sAints fans are gonna be feeling the pressure from fellow BUCS fans for the 6 months.

They may as well settle in with being uncomfortable.

INK’d UP!

Evans initially mentioned getting the tat on his neck. That was probably the drinks talking during the boat parade. While on his IG Live on March 3rd, he gave that pain a second thought.

This faithful fellow BUCS fan got a big sticker on his sweater to celebrate our Team’s 2nd championship.

That and what looks like Rugrats character Chuckie concealing or possibly selling what may be illegal drugs.

AWESOME.

THe lavonte david free agency talk in 4 tweets

The hot-button comment…..

The commentary/backlash……

The “clarification” less than 24 hours later.

And this is why I don’t follow the wave of the national media news cycle.

Too busy celebrating the winning season that was 2020.

The new one starts on March 17th.

Can’t lie…This one got me. I thought this was the official Buccaneers account for about 30 seconds.

Enough to get excited about the possible helmet rule change that would allow the BUCS to have throwback games once again.

After frantically searching for additional sources to confirm what I saw, I realized that was a fan account that had taken the Buccaneers’ official account and mimicked the look.

Now, I wanna chokeslam this lil’ bastard like Kane circa 1997.

More followers.

More loyalists.

More experts.

“Slant-boy” still gettin’ killed.

Next season’s match-ups are gonna be so damn chippy.

I can hardly wait.

Early season doubts and struggles didn’t stop this cat from shining in the Playoffs.

And it’s SO easy to forget this this was just year 2 for the young fella.

The BUCS could still draft another CB that could push him for the full-time CB2 spot.

But, SMB’s resiliency was damn impressive to end the season.

If you’re anything like me, you can’t stand to watch these guys jump on tv and pretend to know everything about every situation every single day for more than 90secs.

These cats will say damn near anything to get attention and have something to talk about.

All the narratives surrounding Tom Brady that got parroted NEVER made any sense if you watched any of the happenings over the last 3 years in New England. And you didn’t even need to be a fan of the team either.

Their success or failure was highlighted EVERY DAMN WEEK.

Archo is just one of many former players that get called upon to parade and falsify their existence in the NFL as expertise.

I’m glad people are keeping those receipts.

There are 16 more days until the 2021 NFL season officially kicks off .

Keep on dancing.

Keep on celebrating the SUPER BOWL year that was 2020..

Happy to see I’m not the only one still enjoying the experience that was a Super Bowl victory.

I’m in no hurry to get to free agency frenzy and draft talk as if this was a regular season for a BUCS fan.

It took 13 years to get back into the Playoffs…17 years to make it to the Super Bowl.

No need in trying to keep up with the national news cycle and move on from the 2020 season.

I’ve watched damn near every iteration of the Super Bowl that’s been produced since February 7th.

And I’ll probably watch them all over again every Sunday until the 2021 NFL Draft.

FLORIDA MAN strikes again.

It was a bad week for the young fella.

Not just him…the entire team. 11 penalties for 120 yards.

After the first two drives, it seemed like their CBs couldn’t help themselves from holding the BUCS receivers.

Screen Shot 2021-02-14 at 10.22.18 AM.png

It’ll NEVER end.

I dunno if White would approve.

But, dammit I chuckled.

Screen Shot 2021-02-14 at 10.28.29 AM.png

Pierre-Paul got something on his mind.

And he ain’t lettin’ nothing slide…not even in victory.

Speaking of not letting anything go……..They call him Tom Petty.

It’s not the first time Peterson was rumored to want to join the BUCS.

The NFC South rivalries are gonna be cranked up to an entirely different level this season.

Especially between the fans.

Case and point.

If you sell it, they will come….

Ummmm….That’s something.

I’ll settle with my sitting thru the 2014 season as a symbol of my dedication to the Team.

Check Ya Sheet.

Ummmmmmmmmm……

If you know this cat, please stage an intervention.

“Downgraded at QB” he says.

Apparently, if you the write the number 12 over and over, it turns into a picture of Andy from The Office.

I’m not sorry.

Even after a Super Bowl win and a $1.5M pay raise, Whitehead ain’t slowing down or lowering expectations.

Before the season, he said he was gonna make sure they knew his name this year.

He let ‘em know.

And planning on making sure they never forget again.

No apologies.

Screen Shot 2021-02-20 at 3.13.50 PM.png

These two must be related to that “Kevin” character that thinks the BUCS downgraded at QB. I didn’t think I’d see 3 of the dumbest takes this week on the same day….within an hour of each other.

These idiots are allowed to drive and vote.

Be safe out there, Fellow BUCS fans.

Flag On The Post: Super Bowl Victory Edition

The Fournette redemption song was just getting warmed up.

Something to keep an eye on…..

Interesting indeed.

That now sits at 8-3.

The “rigged” and referee conspiracy claims were in full effect by the end of the 2nd quarter.

Follow progress..not predictions.

It’s funny because it’s true.

Also scary as hell.

Speaking from experience.

Recurring theme: That damn Defense was killer.

Everything about this is PERFECT.

Winfield Jr. wasn’t on some pretty boy pettiness.

He didn’t just throw ‘em up on his way off the field.

Ol’ boy waited patiently until Hill made eye contact and hit him with the deuces.

That’s on the level of a perfectly delivered punchline from a comedian or a glance/look from an experienced stage performer.

It was intentional….not happenstance.

This was meant to be.

It had to happen.

This disrespect was REAL.

Winfield Jr. delivered one of, if not, the coldest revenge moments in NFL history on the biggest stage there could possibly be.

NARRATOR: Help never came.

A dream turned into reality.

It’s been a long time coming.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaay

All season, that damn defense had been consistently good.

At the end of NFC Championship game, Devin White said they still hadn’t played their best yet.

He wasn’t lying.

Short answer:

Hell Yea.gif

Serious business…What Todd Bowles did with that defense is liken to what Monte Kiffin did back in Tampa’s glory days en route to the 1st title.

Even while nearing the point where the Team was securing a playoff spot, I could see both of these guys being considered for replacement if the season didn’t end with a serious Super Bowl run.

Now, they’ll both be etched in BUCS history forever.

Disney ain’t slick.

The colours were faint orange and red.

Could’ve been either team. I know better.

Gronkowski was the acting public relations guy as well as the party-starter at the postgame press conferences.

That boy played on another level.

It’s only fitting he was living on another planet.

The prophecy has been fulfilled.

For The Children.

Well deserved.

In three seasons, this cat has grown into the BUCS best CB and leader in the secondary.

This is the story of the game. And the season.

Don’t let the talking heads fool you.

A straight up magic moment.

Something like this may not be seen again for another 55 years.

Devin White and that damn horse dream.

He wasn’t gonna let go.

On some Wayne Wonder sh*t.

Call The People….

Pay Attention.

Even in a bad loss, great players stand out.

That boy Mahomes is UNREAL.

EXACTLY.

At every level, big time plays were being made on the defensive side of the ball.

Once again, former BUCS franchise player, Gerald McCoy offers congratulations to his friends and former teammates.

Dude was a class act his entire time in Tampa.

And he continues that life wherever he goes.

Screen Shot 2021-02-09 at 9.08.20 PM.png

From the peanut gallery located in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Take the time to LISTEN to this dude.

In just his 2nd season, White is the biggest talker in BUCS history.

Dude is openly passionate and damn near brutally honest.

Down the line, that’s gonna confuse some “fans” and maybe even hurt some feelings.

But it’ll be aiight.

This dude is SO DAMN GOOD.

And yet, SO DAMN underappreciated and overlooked.

I’m glad he can say he’s a Champion.

Can’t forget about these ol’ salty dogs….Ha

Yea…They’re gonna have to do some renovating over at One Buc Place.

I wonder what the next one look like….

I wonder what the next one look like….

I’ve no clue why a League rules authority would make this statement.

Incidental contact is still contact AND a foul.

If a QB takes contact to the head, even the slightest touch, it’s a foul.

Why is any different for guys running routes?!

These kinds of tweets/statements only muddy the waters when trying to make the right call or even make a baseline for what would be the right call.

And why do that after the last game of the season??

Another proud parent moment.

Gotta love it.

Yea.

I hope BUCS fans learn to not pay attention to opinion rankings and “grades” ever again.

Fuck Em.gif

I cracked the hell up on this one.. Can’t even lie.

Mike Evans’ favourite player became one of his biggest fans. DOPE.

They had to go into MapQuest to track down how far this dude had to run in order to get away from Todd Bowles’ defense!!!

I wonder if he gets reimbursed for mileage.

Remember when Donovan Smith was the “worst LT in the NFL” and he was sure to be the reason Brady wouldn’t make it thru the season??

Pure joy.

All these damn onions in here…

All coordinators look alike.

That’s what they say.

One day, fans will wake up to the reality that the vast majority of these guys are just there for entertainment purposes only.

The cats don’t pay attention to the BUCS or what’s happening.

If it’s not a nationally televised game, they don’t watch closely and they don’t care to.

They’ve gotta pretend they know everything about every other team too.

And it’s not just the big national guys either.

Plenty of locals are thriving on stories/headlines rather than actual insight and journalism.

Watch for the hook.

I’ve been there.

2014…..

0-8 at Raymond James Stadium.

IMG_20141228_122758527.jpg

Tee hee.

Don’t worry…I got ‘em.

Pay Attention!!

The QB gets too much blame and too much credit.

Any mention of anyone or anything else being the reason the BUCS were successful this season and it immediately goes to the notion one must “hate” the QB.

So weird.

This may be my favourite of the past week.

It’s crazy what film review can do.

Having no recent film of Heinecke caused some big issues for the Defense.

If you go back and look at Bowles’ history of 2nd chances against offenses while in Tampa, he’s found a way of correcting mistakes and exploiting the opposing team.

A hater??

Targeting.

This has been confirmed.

Serious business.

F*ck that faux-fandom.

It’s happening…..

This is one of the cooler videos of Super Bowl reactions.

Notice how there are so very little crowds in the video.

McClendon is one of a few guys that could possibly go out on a high note.

He could hang it up this offseason having won a Super Bowl.

LEGENDARY.

Just a reminder.

Ha!!!

The pettiness knows no boundaries.

The most despised Divisional rival stay having something to say.

Too bad they’ve gotta wait another 6 months to get the taste of ass-whoopin’ outta their mouths.

This will go down as the most talked about Championship parades of all time.

Someone missed a golden opportunity to shoot an Old Spice Swagger commercial here.

Well deserved.

Brady’s social media manager(s) deserve a raise.

Reminder: It’s bigger than sports.

The celebration everyone’s been waiting for.

Devin White and Dream taking a victory lap.
